What is a filler product - hyaluronic acid?

This product occurs naturally in our body (as well as elastin and collagen fibres). It determines the elasticity, flexibility and smoothness of the skin. Its hygroscopic properties allow the tissues to maintain an appropriate degree of hydration, while its molecules act as a carrier that allows the transport of nutrients deep into the skin. In addition, the filler stimulates collagen production. Unfortunately, as we age, its content decreases, which results in the appearance of more wrinkles and the skin loses its density and elasticity. By using filler-based fillers, you can quickly and safely prolong a youthful appearance.

Can wrinkle reduction nasolabial furrows be filled with hyaluronic acid preparation at Sungate Beauty &Spa?

Yes, as well as transverse forehead wrinkles, lion's wrinkle, wrinkles around the mouth and even scars. Each treatment is individually tailored to your needs.

What does a facial modelling treatment involve?

After consultation with a specialist, the injection site is anaesthetised with a cream for 15-30 minutes for greater comfort. The filler is injected with a thin needle deep into the skin, at several points, then it is massaged. During the injection you are fully conscious and after the treatment you will immediately see the result of the procedure. Wrinkles are smoothed out and the skin is firm, hydrated, rejuvenated and has a natural colour.

Filler - what does it do?

Filler is an unchanging acid found in every living organism, not excluding bacteria. It is responsible for binding water to collagen, which provides support for the tissues. Over time (especially after the age of 40), the amount of filler in the tissues and skin decreases, hence they lose their natural smoothness and elasticity, as well as their optimal level of hydration.

Its strength is demonstrated by the fact that 1 gram of filler binds 6 litres of water, with as many as 250 water molecules per molecule.

Filler used in cosmetics and medicine since the 1930s, it used to be extracted from animal tissue, but is now obtained, among other things for ethical reasons, through special cultures of Streptococus bacteria, which are fermented and filtered to produce a sodium salt filler with consistent parameters. To prolong its shelf life, dextran or acrylic co-polymer stabilisation is used under optimal sterile conditions.
The most modern method of extracting plant-derived filler is now NASHA™, which gives the acid a much longer life and a longer biodegradation process.

Filler - supporting healing and cosmetic processes

Due to its completely safe - physiological - nature, the filler is widely used in many branches of medicine - including ophthalmology, ENT, orthopaedics, gynaecology and cosmetology as an excellent filler, skin revitaliser, wrinkle or fold reducer and an important element in the treatment of acne lesions and atopic dermatitis.

How long do the effects last?

The effects are visible immediately and last 9-18 months, sometimes longer, depending on age, skin type, site of administration as well as lifestyle.

When can wrinkles not be filled with filler?

  • pregnancy and lactation
  • a tendency towards hypertrophic scars
  • use of anticoagulants and anti-inflammatory drugs
  • inflammatory lesions in the skin
  • hypersensitivity to the filler.
  • autoimmune disease
  • skin with an outbreak of infected bacteria
  • herpes virus infection.
  • young people under 18 years of age.
  • previous treatments with permanent fillers in the same area
  • taking steroid medication

After how long can the final result of the treatment be expected?

The effect of shallowing the nasolabial furrows is visible immediately after injection with the filler. Three to four weeks after the treatment, we can see the final effect. During a check-up with the aesthetic physician, an additional treatment may be performed, which is sometimes necessary if the hollows were deep. Together with the doctor, a decision is made about a possible additional treatment. The best results for the correction of drooping and flaccid upper eyelids are when the filler is administered and shaped in stages, i.e. after 3-4 weeks. Then we can be sure that we will obtain a satisfactory natural shape and the administered preparation will not move.

How many treatments should be performed to achieve a satisfactory result?

Usually, for people under 40 years of age, one visit , during which 0.5 to 1 ml of filler is administered, is sufficient. At an older age, a satisfactory result is achieved after a second treatment, as the depressions are deeper. Alternatively, the next treatment can be performed 3-4 weeks after the first treatment.

How long does the effect of 1-2 treatments last?

Satisfactory results obtained after 1-2 treatments last from 8 to 12 months. Many factors determine this: the patient's age, the type of preparation used, lifestyle and the patient's general condition. Smoking significantly affects the loss of the achieved effect.

How often should the treatment be repeated?

Typically, the treatment needs to be repeated when the satisfactory effect fades, after about 8 - 12 months. Subsequent 'maintenance treatments' require smaller volumes of the preparation, as the collagen fibres at the site of the first administration have increased in number and prolong the skin restructuring effect.

How does the facial skin look immediately after the treatment?

The treated area is mildly reddened, swollen and painful on pressure. The needle insertion points in the skin are also visible. When touching the injection area, you may feel a hardening of the skin as the filler has been inserted. During the procedure and on the following day, small haematomas at the needle insertion point and swelling may occur. All discomfort subsides within a few days. To get rid of swelling, cold compresses should be applied, while bruising can be quickly removed by applying Arnica gel.

What are the recommendations after nasolabial furrow correction surgery?

After the procedure, it is advisable to use products that accelerate skin healing, such as: Cicaplast and gently massaging the area where the filler was injected. If bruises have appeared after the procedure, they can be lubricated with Arnica gel, which accelerates their absorption. After a few days, you can return to regular skin care and apply sunscreen, preferably with an SPF50 factor.

What can be done to make the effect of the treatment last as long as possible?

It is very important to use day creams with sunscreens ( SPF 30 - 50+) and skin care products with antioxidants: such as vitamin C, vitamin E, flavonoids, ferulic acid, phloretin. Oral preparations containing vitamin C, vitamin E, coenzyme Q10 and grape seed flavonoids are also worthwhile. It is very important to avoid smoking, as it significantly accelerates the ageing process and the loss of the rejuvenating results obtained.

It is also worth scheduling skin revitalising treatments such as medical peels and mesotherapy.
